General rules for children
Children up to the age of 15
Children may use the thermal baths and the infinity pool daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Food and drink
Bringing in and consuming your own food and drink is not permitted anywhere on the premises. Please use our Bistro for food and drink.
Cloakrooms
Please store your valuables and clothes in the lockers provided. Please ensure you leave the cloakrooms clean and tidy.
SPA Etiquette
The pool area is a place of tranquillity. Please speak to your child quietly and considerately. Shouting, splashing, diving and running about are not permitted.
Showering
Showering is compulsory for both children and adults before having a bath. Some children don’t like showering – keep your child close to you, avoid directing the shower jet over their head and gently wet them with your hands.
Changing nappies
Please use the nappy-changing table in the cloakroom. Dispose of used nappies in a plastic bag, which you’ll find by the sink. Your child will need a suitable swim nappy for their visit – you can get one from us at reception or from a specialist retailer.
Equipment in the water
The use of balls, flippers, goggles or other play equipment is not permitted.
Prams
Please park your pushchair only in the designated area in front of the main entrance. It must not be left in the cloakrooms.
Bistro
At the Hürlimannbad Bistro, you’ll find a varied selection of delicacies prepared fresh every day. Start your day in a relaxed way with a delicious breakfast or choose a crisp, seasonal salad – whatever takes your fancy. Whether you fancy something hearty or light, you’ll find just the right thing here to make your day a thoroughly enjoyable one.
And best of all: you can pay for everything conveniently and cash-free using your chip wristband – so you can enjoy a completely stress-free break.

The wellness dress code
You may only use the Hürlimannbad Zürich whilst wearing standard swimwear*. For hygiene reasons, please do not wear underwear under your swimwear – particularly not under swim shorts.
* Permitted swimwear:
Swimsuits, bikinis, tankinis, burkinis, swimming trunks or swim shorts – provided they are specifically designed for use in the water.
No other items of clothing are permitted in the bathroom.
Health issues
Our thermal water is rich in minerals and has a soothing effect on both body and mind. However, in certain cases, a visit to our facilities is not recommended – in particular:
- Acute skin inflammation (e.g. eczema)
- Acute joint inflammation
- Severe varicose veins
- Open wounds
- Recent operations
- During pregnancy: up to the 12th week and from the 33rd week onwards
Please let our team know if you have any other health issues – such as allergies, the after-effects of an accident or injury, or ongoing medical treatment – that might affect your stay with us.
Information for expectant mothers
Warm thermal water has a soothing effect on your whole body – which is why a visit to our spa can be very beneficial, even during pregnancy. However, how your body reacts to warm water varies from person to person. You should therefore check with your doctor beforehand to see whether a visit is suitable for you.
Massages during pregnancy
- For safety reasons, we do not offer massages until after the 12th week of pregnancy.
- From the 13th week of pregnancy onwards, you are welcome to treat yourself to one of our special massages.
We offer expectant mothers a soothing milk and herbal compress massage.
Massage rooms
Our massage treatments are carried out in shared treatment rooms, where there may be another guest present. Your privacy and personal comfort are always respected and are our top priority.
Massages for children and teenagers
- Children and young people under the age of 16 cannot book a massage.
- From the age of 16, a massage is only permitted if accompanied by an adult.
- From the age of 18, a massage is permitted even without an adult accompanying them.
Massages for people with special needs
- In the case of intellectual disability, a massage is only possible if accompanied by a carer.
- If you have a physical disability, the massage can also be carried out without an accompanying person – provided you are able to get onto the massage table unaided.

Swimming lessons for babies and toddlers
In our swimming courses, you’ll spend active time with your child and gently and playfully help them get used to being in the water. The courses take place in the teaching pool at the Hürlimannbad Zürich. During the lessons, the pool is reserved exclusively for our young participants. The water temperature is a comfortable 35 °C.
General information
Changing nappies & swim nappies
Please change your child on the changing table in the cloakroom. Dispose of used nappies in the plastic bags provided by the sink. For the course, your child will need a suitable swim nappy – available from us at the main reception or from specialist shops.
Missed lessons
You can use any missed lessons (one or more) as admission to the thermal bath area, including the infinity pool, within one year of the course ending. For further details, please email us at: babyschwimmen@huerlimannbad.ch
Admission times for children and young people

Without a child: Daily from 09.00–22.00
Accompanying adult on the course
One adult accompanying person per child is permitted in the course pool during the course.

Snus & nicotine products
The use of snus and other nicotine products is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
Loss of chip wristband
If you lose your chip wristband, we will have to charge you CHF 50 to cover the costs involved. If the wristband is found, you will be refunded this amount in the form of Value cards.
Waiting times
Our swimming pool is particularly busy at weekends, during the holidays, on public holidays or when the weather is bad. Between 12.00 and 18.00, there may therefore be longer waiting times.
Our tip: Come and see us in the morning or in the evening – it’s much quieter then.
