A peaceful home, with just a few clear rules
To ensure our hotel remains a place of respite for everyone, we adhere to a few simple principles. Most of them go without saying. We’ve summarised them here so that your stay gets off to a relaxing start.
Privacy
To ensure that all guests can relax without feeling watched, smartphones, mobile phones and cameras must be left in the cloakroom. E-readers and audio devices with headphones are welcome.
Clothing
In the swimming area, men wear swimming trunks or swim shorts, and women wear bikinis or swimsuits. Burkinis are welcome.
Swimwear is compulsory in the steam baths at the Mineralbad Samedan, the Hürlimannbad Zürich, the Solbad Schönbühl (natural saltwater bath) and the Mineralbad Rigi. All other saunas and steam baths are nude.
We provide you with suitable towels in the Spa area. Rental towels remain the property of the hotel. In the event of theft, we will charge a flat rate of CHF 50 per item.
Showers
You must have a shower before your first bath. It protects the water and everyone who comes after you.
Before your visit
You are responsible for your own safety during your visit. If you have any heart or circulatory problems, or if you are pregnant, please check with your doctor beforehand regarding how long you should stay in the water. If you have any open wounds or a contagious illness, we ask that you refrain from visiting.
With children and young people
The spa and Sauna area is open to guests aged 16 and over. Young people aged 15 and under may only enter if accompanied by an adult; the accompanying adult is responsible for supervising them. At Hammam Bern, a minimum age of 16 applies out of respect for the Hammam Ritual.
Coats and valuables
Lockable changing room lockers are available for your clothes and bags. Bags are not permitted in the pool, Sauna and Spa areas. We accept no liability for valuables. A handling fee of CHF 50 will be charged if you lose your chip or cloakroom key.
Food and glass
We’d be delighted to look after you in our restaurant and lounge. You’re not allowed to bring your own food or drink. For safety reasons, glass bottles and glass containers must be left outside.
Smoking and opening hours
Smoking is prohibited throughout the premises. Access to the swimming pool, Sauna and spa closes 30 minutes before the premises close.
During a thunderstorm
In the event of a thunderstorm with lightning, please leave both the indoor pool and the Outdoor pool. In such cases, admission fees will not be refunded.
Respect and responsibility
We place great importance on mutual respect. Should these rules be breached, we reserve the right to terminate your stay. The person responsible will be liable for any soiling or damage; in the case of minors, their legal guardians will be liable. Further provisions can be found in our Terms and Conditions.
Thank you very much for helping to ensure that our home remains a peaceful place for everyone.
