The oriental Cleansing ritual forms the centrepiece of the Hammam Bern. For centuries, this special bathing ceremony has been used to cleanse the body and mind. The soothing sequence of heat, water and care accompanies you across several rooms. The bathing rooms extend over four floors, with the warm relaxation bath under the 13-metre-high dome forming the impressive centre of the hammam. The tour lasts around two hours and gives you peace, security and a deep feeling of purity and lightness - a ritual that immerses you in a world straight out of 1001 Nights.

Notes:
Admission to the hammam includes the loan of a Pestemal (traditional cotton towel) and a Kese (exfoliating mitt). Tea in the Bistro is also included. Please note that you are not allowed to bring your own towels or bath towels on the tour. Allow around two hours for your visit. Admission is possible from the age of 16. Reservations are not possible for the Hammam Ritual.
Dress code:
You only wear the pestemal (cotton cloth) during the entire tour; swimwear and underwear are not permitted for reasons of hygiene. You only remove the pestemal in the Kese and Lif rooms.

The tour begins
At the beginning, you wrap yourself in the traditional cotton towel "Pestemal", which accompanies you throughout the tour. Swimwear or underwear are not permitted for reasons of hygiene. The ritual takes around two hours.
Sogukluk Flower steam room (38 °C)
Gently warm your body at 38 °C in the Flower steam room "Sogukluk". Pour fresh water from the central fountain over your body. After 10 to 15 minutes, your skin is perfectly prepared for the first cleansing treatment.
Kese Peeling
In the "Kese" room, you rub your body with a rough glove. This removes old skin cells and revitalises your skin. After 5 to 10 minutes, use the silver bowl to draw water from the fountain and pour it over your body.
Sicaklik Relaxation bath (35 °C)
The central "Sicaklik" room is the centrepiece of the octagon. Here you can relax in the 35 °C warm water and let your gaze wander under the imposing 13 metre high dome - a moment of deep calm and weightlessness.
Bingül Herbal steam room (45 °C)
In the Herbal steam room "Bingül", the hot steam at 45 °C opens your pores again. The fragrant herbs envelop you, cleansing and revitalising you. After 10 to 15 minutes, you are ready for the next station.
Lif Peeling
The second cleansing follows in the "Lif" room: a soothing scrub with fine soap lather. Rinse off the foam with warm water from the wooden bucket. A feeling of purity and lightness on your skin.
Marble table Warmth & security
Finally, you rest on the large, cosy, warm Marble tables. Here you will find a sense of security, allow the warmth to permeate you and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the hammam.
